LFD Annual Golf Tournament

   The Lumberton Fire Co. #1 annual Golf Tournament will be held on October 4th at the Golden Pheasant Golf Course.  There will be a 9:00am shotgun start for 4 man teams and refreshments and awards will be at the Firehouse on Main St. immediately after play.  If interested, contact Jim Rossell at j.rossell@verizon.net or 609-261-8053 for information and registration. FIRE PREVENTION ACTIVITIES
   
Wednesday, October 6, 2010

    Join us for our Fire Prevention Activities on Wednesday Oct. 6th at Miller Ford on Rt. 38. The public is invited from 6:30pm to 9:00pm to get safety tips to make your home a safer place to live. There will also be a demonstration of extrication, use of fire extinguishers and meet our fire Dalmatian. We will also be joined by mutual aide stations showing their specialized apparatus that would respond to assist our station in case of a large fire. Give aways from the Fire Officials office and the fire dept. will be available and a new pamphlet just created for new member recruitment. 


 
1314 SECOND DUE TENDER TO MOUNT LAUREL BRUSH FIRE

AROUND 4PM TENDER 1314 WAS DISPATCHED TO ROUTE 295 AND CREEK ROAD FOR 3 LARGE BRUSH FIRES BURNING IN THE AREA. UPON ARRIVEL 1314 WAS ORDERED TO FEED DIST 31 BRUSH TRUCK AND SEND CREW IN THE WOODS TO HELP EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. CREWS RETURNED BACK TO THE STATION ALMOST 3 HOURS LATER....


 
   
   
2 Vehicle MVA on Municipal Drive

A two vehicle MVA on Municipal Dr. was discovered by Rescue 1319 and Chief 1300 while returning to the station from the Township garage area. A Verizon truck and a pickup came together and hit a pole bringing phone and cable tv wires down on the roadway.  There were no injuries and the roadway was quickly re-opened to normal traffic.


 
   
   
Vehicle Overturned on Eayrestown Road

While crews were setting up for National Night Out they were alerted to the area of Bridge Rd. and Eayrestown for an overturned vehicle. Quickly enroute was Chief 1300, Engine 1311, Rescue 1319. Upon arrival crews secured the vehicle and fluids were contained quickly before running into the creek.


 
   
   
National Night Out 2010

National Night Out was a big success once again with township public works on display and all emergency services from Lumberton, Tabernacle, Eastampton, and Princeton Bristol Myers Squibb showing their apparatus off. NJSP South Star landed in the field to show the public their medivac helicopter. The night was concluded by a joint effort of vehicle extrication by Station 131 and Station 139.


 
   
   
131, 139 RESPOND TO A 2 CAR MVA

   At 14:07 stations 139 and 131 were dispatched for a 2 vehicle MVA at Main St. and Fostertown Rd. 1391, 1393, EMS 13responded and received assistance from district 39 EMS. Engine 1311,  Rescue 1319 Chief 1300 and AC 1302 also responded. 131 crews stabilized both vehicles and assisted with patient lifting. All units were available once both vehicles were removed from the scene.


 
   
   
131 MEMBERS GRADUATE FIRE SCHOOL

     Congratulations to Tim Pearson Jr., Matt Pearson, Rich Parks and Vince Pagliocca for graduating Firefighter I. It is young men like this that will be the future of the Lumberton Fire Co. #1. Great Job Guys!!


 
   
   
LUMERTON JR FIREFIGHTERS PASS FIRE 1

SCHOOL BUS VS CAR MVA

    At 12:33pm Stations 139 and 131 were dispatched for a MVA with a vehicle into a pole.  It turned out to be a school bus and car MVA. Fortunately the bus was empty except for the driver and there were no major injuries. Engine 1311 took care of some fluids on the roadway and returned to quarters.
